We proudly announce that on 16th March we ran the 1st InSimu Diagnostic Challenge ever with the participation of 8 teams, comprising of 3 medical students each, representing all four medical universities of the country. The purpose of the Diagnostic Challenge was to find out which one is the best diagnostician team: solving the most cases in InSimu Patient app out of the 10 random patients with the most XP in 20 minutes.
The University of Debrecen housed the event’s guests who were mainly 5th and 6th year med students. Besides testing the participants’ competency, it was a great occasion to practice and improve team work, to unite individual knowledge to achieve better diagnostics. Working in small groups is also an excellent way of problem-based learning, which definitely enhances motivation and gives students better retention of knowledge.
The members of the winning team could go home with a trophy, congratulations to the members of the Pécsi Orvostanhallgatók Egyesülete (HuMSIRC Pécs): Bálint Ács, Tünde Kui and Jason Sparks!
The InSimu Diagnostic Challenge was a great opportunity for our team to gain valuable experience in organizing a competition among med students and now we are ready to take it a step further: to make arrangements for the Diagnostic Olympiad arm in arm with IFMSA.
A big thank you to all the competitors who attended as well as Debreceni Orvostanhallgatók Egyesülete (HuMSIRC Debrecen) who made it all possible!
